Hope in your waiting
"When will it be my turn," she asked casting her eyes to the ceiling hoping that a voice like the sound of many waters would respond and take her misery away.
She was known, at least, not for what she had, but for what she does not have. No child was growing, kicking, and flipping in her womb. No swaddling clothes to change. No crying newborn to soothe. No infant nursing at her breast. She had no children.
Emmanuel and Joyce were in their 7th year of marriage. Manuel being a gospel music minister, has impacted lives through his songs. People share testimonies of how they had encounters that led to major breakthroughs in their lives through his songs. The couple had celebrated with friends and family on their Babies. Joy carried those babies to her womb just maybe the babies would speak to her unborn children. Even then it seemed the door of conception was shut at her.
They had just heard the good news of a baby born in her extended family, and while congratulations was flying she couldn't help but ask the train of questions in her mind.
Anyone who has engaged in the act of prayer can affirm that when we pray, we are conversing with our Father in heaven. Telling him how great he is, how much we love him, and also making our requests known to him. He has promised to give us the desires of our hearts.
Sometimes when things don't go the way we expect them to, especially situations where we have to wait a long time, we get scared to ask the questions drowning in our hearts. It’s a fact that you don't question God, but when you have a relationship with your father in the sense that you don't just pray but have and intimate relationship with him, yes you can ask him those questions from your heart. Sometimes, the "why" doesn't come from a place of resentment or anger. It's more like reminding someone you trust and know of how capable they are and still let you go through your situations when they can easily get you out of it. And one good thing about this is that God doesn't leave you without an answer.
The answer can come in different ways. You might get your answers just by watching a Tv show as I got mine , or you can get your answers from a thought, it's just how wonderful God is.
No one says waiting on God is easy or untroubled, it's a time when your faith and integrity are tested and sometimes you feel forgotten. What matters most is what you do in your waiting season. Do you curse God and die as Job's wife advises or do you keep the faith as Abraham?
It may seem as though the clock is ticking on you in life. One thing I realize in my waiting is that God is not a time waster. Every time spent with God is worth it. There has never been a time in the Bible when those who waited on God didn't see the benefit of their wait. You just need to keep the faith and spend time with God in prayer. God can reveal situations surrounding your wait.
Your wait may not be propelled by God, it might just be the enemy's attack on God's promises see Dan 10vs12
"Then he said, "Don't be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way."
When you engage in prayers and seek God even when you feel discouraged, God can reveal the cause of your wait and the approach to take to overcome the devil.
But not all waiting is an attack from the devil. God can make you wait so his name will be glorified.
God can also make us wait to fulfill a prophecy, he also makes us wait to strengthen us and bring us back to him. We see the story of Hannah, God closed her womb. She was in deep distress cause of her barrenness. Her approach to God's presence was of bitterness and anguish. Immediately she changed her approach she was blessed with a child.
